"Quicksilver Introduces Five More Inflatables"
12/09/2005

The largest of these is the 530 HD XS-Duty with aluminium-composite flooring.  The added durability of the floor allows this heavy duty 5.3-metre boat to operate in more extreme conditions.  It has been designed to withstand the demands of sea rescue and scuba diving in particular, with reinforced double-layer 1100 Duratex fibre to prevent chafing and take hard knocks, plus a coating that maximises UV protection to maintain its integrity.  The red fabric increases visibility.  Stainless steel braces the transom to enable the boat to take up to 50HP (37.3kW) of four-stroke outboard power.

Soil-resistant grey fabric options are introduced for the 240 AIR DECK and 310 AIR DECK, aimed at those who seek to keep their boats looking cleaner more easily than with white fabric.  These European-style tenders are around 25% lighter than comparable wooden floor inflatables and include an inflatable keel under the floor for improved performance.  The fabric is heavy duty Duratex with a tight-weave, non-stretch polyester core.

Two further new boats, the 270 AIR DECK and 240 RU (roll-up), give the option of a Neoprene-Hypalon fabric.  This is extremely resistant to high levels of UV exposure and carries a 10-year warranty, with five years on the seams and two years on parts.  The 270 AIR DECK, for up to four people and gear, has four separate internal air chambers, while the extra-light 240 RU, easy to set up and pack away, will carry three people.  It has two internal chambers for added safety.  Duratex versions of these tenders remain available for budget conscious boaters.
