Dmitri Medvedev, Russia's president-elect, has purchased two Aquador 32 boats, according to
Swedish daily paper Dagens Industri. The boats will be built at the Bella-Veneet factory in Karleby, Finland.
It's well known that Medvedev likes rock music and has a slightly different profile than his predecessor, Vladimir Putin. But in his choice of motorboats he follows Putin, who already is an Aquador customer and has at least one of his boats for winter storage on the Swedish east coast. Medvedev's two Aquadors will be moored at two different harbours - one in Moscow and one in St Petersburg.
Both new boats will be well equipped and presumably fitted with the latest security equipment. The first boat is to be delivered this summer.
Bella Boats is partially owned by the Brunswick Corporation. The company was founded by Raimo Sonninen, who remains as majority owner and president.
