Vator Oy, our distributor inFinland, has acquired a majority stake in Helsingin Bella Marina Oywhich owns two major dealerships in the Helsinki region. With thepurchase of Flipper Market and Bella-Marina Vator becomes a majorplayer in the marine retail market."The purchase of thesetwo dealerships is an integral part of Vator strategy which is tobecome major retailer in the greater Helsinki area and thereby getsbe closer to the consumer" says Joel"Jolli" Nemes, the Managing Director of Vator. With theexisting Vator Jollas marina and dealership in the eastern HelsinkiVator becomes a multi dealership with three dealerships and theleading marine retailer in the greater Helsinki area.
The two acquireddealerships Flipper Market in Koivusaari in western Helsinki andBella-Marina in Kipparilahti in central eastern Helsinki are partof the Helsinki Bella-Marina Oy (HBM).
HBM was foundedin 1993 and in the year 2003 its sales were 9 million EUR. Bothacquired dealerships sell Aquador, Bella, Flipper and Sealinefibreglass, Silver aluminium and Terhi ABS boats. Both dealershipsare both Mercury and Honda dealers.
With thepurchase of these dealerships Vator will be able to implement thepre-rigging strategy of Marine Power Europe by pre-rigging allAquador, Bella, and Flipper boats with Mercuryoutboards.
The ManagingDirector Kim Tigerstedt will continue as the Managing Director ofHBM as well as all the rest of the skilled personal working forHBM.
Vator Oy wasestablished on May 17th, 1938 and has gone a long way from a boatyard building wooden boats to a full line marine distributor and ithas a long tradition and deep roots in marine business. Its salesfor the financial year 2003 reached 20 million Euros. Vator startedto distribute Mercury outboards in the early 1950´s and is theoldest International Mercury distributor worldwide.
