The 2006 Miss World finals
take place in Warsaw, Poland, on 30 September, and as a prelude to the glamour event, the contestants are touring the country.
Between 10 and 13 September, the beauty queens were in the north-eastern city of Gizycko which is in the Mazurian Lake District of Poland.
Wherever there’s water, there’s fun to be had and at the request of the Mayor of Gizycko, Marine Power Europe distributor, Parker Poland, provided three Parker RIBs for use by the contestants.
For more than two hours on 11 September, the girls enjoyed an exhilarating photoshoot on the water with their RIBs powered respectively by a Mercury MerCruiser 320 HP Bravo 3 sterndrive, twin Mercury Verado 250 HP and Mercury Verado 150 HP.
Needless to say, the clear favourite with the girls was the RIB with a double dose of Mercury Verado power. The world’s media were present and provided extensive TV and print coverage of the event.
