A Mercury Veradooutboard engine has taken pride of place alongside the latestPorsche high performance car engine at Europe's leading plasticsindustry exhibition in Germany last month (October). The Verado formedpart of the centrepiece of the DuPont Engineering Polymers displayat the K-Exhibition in Düsseldorf, which attracted a quarterof a million opinion leaders and decision takers from around theworld.
DuPont's polymershave been used widely in Mercury's new state-of-the-art Verado, thefirst supercharged four-stroke outboard engine, currently beingintroduced across Europe's pleasure boating markets. The Verado isan in-line-six cylinder unit displacing 2.6 litres and it will beused as the base for low emission four-stroke engines up to 275HP(205kW).
