Marine Power Europe'sdirector of boat products, Ted Fagerburg, has announced a series ofadditions and upgrades to the range of Arvor inboard diesel poweredfishing boats, in readiness for the 2005 season.

The new Arvor 230AS is a smaller sister to the big selling Arvor 250 AS introducedat the start of this year. There is a spacious cabin, offset toport which allows a deep and secure passageway forward on thestarboard side. Arvor regards this boat as innovative, exemplifiedby a stern livewell set at waist height and with an aquarium-stylewindow for the entertainment of passengers. Standard power is fromVolkswagen's new five-cylinder 150HP (111.9kW) turbocharged marinediesel. The 230 AS has a Navman 6600 combined GPS, plotter andfishfinder - being introduced as standard equipment on all 2005Arvor models.

The 215, first seenlast year, is joined by the new 215 AS, also featuring an offsetcabin to maximise forward access while maintaining spaciousnessbelow decks. It has the new livewell as standard. The 210 nowbenefits from a sliding door for direct cockpit access from thesteering position. Even with the door closed for bad weather thereis ample light into the cabin. All three models are offered with aVolkswagen four-cylinder 50HP (37.3kW) diesel or five-cylinder100HP (74.6kW) turbo diesel.

Other models in therange include the Arvor 190 and the 250. The 190 features theVolkswagen 50HP (37.3 kW) diesel or 75HP (55.9kW) diesel, while theflagship 250 AS retains CMD's 4.2 litre engine (Cummins MerCruiserDiesel), rated at 230HP (171.5kW). The 2005 model Arvor 250 willalso benefit from a standard bow thruster for easier manoeuvring intight quarters.

There will also bea limited series of burgundy coloured craft in the AS line-up, withthe first being shown at the forthcoming La Rochelle boat show inFrance. Ted Fagerburg explains: "The dark red hulls mirror a marinetradition that commercial fishermen worldwide have often followedin their colour choice. They are a reminder that these Arvor boatsare serious, semi-professional fishing boats."
