"Outerlimits Earns Mercury Racing T.E.A.M. Accreditation"05/11/2004
Outerlimits Offshoreof Bristol, Rhode Island has earned accreditation through MercuryRacing's Total Engine Application Management (T.E.A.M.) program forinstallation of the HP1075 SCi sterndrive enginepackage.The T.E.A.M.initiative is a factory-approved integration process for newMercury Racing marine propulsion systems. The standardized processrequires training of the entire OEM boat builder and dealer staffinvolved with the installation of the new Mercury Racing propulsionsystem. The program specifies qualified components to be used withthe new product along with factory-approved product specifications.The HP1075 SCi sterndrive is the first product to be supported bythe Mercury Racing T.E.A.M. initiative.Mercury RacingPresident Fred Kiekhaefer presented Outerlimits owner Mike Fioreand his father Paul, Director of Sales, with custom T.E.A.M.plaques at Mercury Racing's headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wis.,Tuesday, October 19. The plaques signify Outerlimit's accreditationfor HP1075 SCi engine package installation in their 51-foot QuadStep Sport Yacht and 42-foot GTX boatmodels.

Thetwo other accredited boat builders are Cigarette Racing ofOpa-Locka, Fla; and Nortec Powerboats of North Fort Myers,Fla.
"We've beenbuilding boats for 28 years and have used Mercury productsthroughout our history. This is our first visit to Mercury Racing.We are honored to be here and receive our 1075 SCi T.E.A.M.Accreditation," said Outerlimit's MikeFiore.

Mercury'sSmartCraft technology makes the 1075 SCi the most user friendly,big-block engine available. The Mercury exclusive PropulsionControl Module (PCM) 03 microprocessor is the brain behind thebrawn, giving this monster motor a friendly personality. Based on ahigh performance 557-cubic inch V-8 cylinder block, the 1075 SCifeatures a pair of Lysholm twin screw super chargers with multiportfuel injection (two injectors per cylinder). This combinationprovides sport boaters with turn-key starting, great overallrunning quality and incredibly smooth idle quality for a highhorsepower big block. The engine's 800 RPM idle speed makesshifting into and out of gear smooth as silk, making docking mucheasier with less chance of stalling and other low-RPM drawbacksnormally associated with big horsepower.
The 1075 SCi isonly available to T.E.A.M.-accredited OEM boat builders anddealers. Mercury Racing, along with its parent company MercuryMarine, is the first marine engine manufacturer to be ISO 9001/2000certified. The T.E.A.M. initiative is a reflection of MercuryRacing's high standards and dedication to continue its leadershipposition in the marine industry.
