Manager, Logistics & Trade Compliance (M/F)

 

Primary Duties  & Responsibilities:

The Manager Logistics & Trade Compliance is directly responsible and accountable for driving and developing vision and setting strategic direction for all import and export flows within EMEA. By leading and managing the import & export teams effectively, you will ensure compliance with all Customs regulations, including those related to Foreign Trade Zones. You will also guarantee Quality, Performance and Cost Control at the current transport carriers.

You lead, motivate, organize and control the staff of the Import, Export, Customs and Product Flow departments which consist of a team of +- 15 employees including 2 team leaders.

You manage Logistics-related strategic projects, you develop and monitor action plans that ensure continuous process improvement in logistics, both at financial (RFQ/tendering) and quality levels.

You set EMEA transportation and vendor performance policies, you ensure we negotiate the most competitive rates and service in our transportation contracts including special transports and direct shipments, and evaluate our partners allocating trade-lane volumes accordingly.

You support the development and execution of Vendor Compliance Programs and related performance measurement metrics of Transport companies as well as third party logistics partners in order to measure and validate delivery objectives.

You ensure compliance with new Customs regulations as PLDA and develop long term vision towards becoming an AEO.

You develop, manage and monitor improved KPI metrics and reporting capabilities to support effective analysis of business operations and trends.

Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements


The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A high sense of Ethics
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office: Computer proficiency with standard software packages, including Word, Excel and AS400 systems
  • Mandatory fluency in English, French is highly desirable
  • Excellent project management, planning and organizational skills, process minded
  • An ability to lead, motivate and mentor personnel
  • Analytical with a results oriented and metrics-driven performance
  • Proven ability to perform in a multi-organizational, complex environment working with large amounts of data that require decisions that directly impact product availability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required
  • Minimum of 5+ years work experience in international transportation/logistics, and/or import/export trade compliance Education & Experience
  • Experience in leading team of people directly and indirectly
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision
